No one REALLY likes the “Harlem Shake” song, and now the Fed is finally looking into it thanks to a Colorado College student’s video. A “Harlem Shake” video filmed on a Frontier Airlines flight to San Diego in mid-February has started an investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration, the
“They are still looking into it, itap still open,” FAA spokesman Tony Molinero told The Catalyst. “I don’t know where the were told about it, but when they saw the video they just decided to look into it because it is better to be safe than sorry.”
The investigation got started after the video hit YouTube, where everyone — literally everyone — has posted a video of people dancing to Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” song. Because these videos have become the next Internet meme — and surely not because people enjoy the music — “Harlem Shake” has been the No. 1 song in America two weeks in a row.
The video, titled, “Harlem Shake Frontier Flight 157 (CC Wasabi Ultimate),” already has 786,421 views and has ads and everything. At 30 seconds long, it actually showcases a good bit of choreography, or planning at least, with everyone on the plane dancing.
