Colorado-based (pronounced “Axis”) will present the  2013 live during the weekend of May 3, a first for the network and part of a new partnership with the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell.

The network will broadcast some segments live throughout the seven-day festival, April 26 to May 5, including live segments in its nightly program “AXSLive.” Then continuous live festival, concert and event coverage is planned from Friday through Sunday.

Originally conceived by entrepreneur Mark Cuban and Denver’s Philip Garvin (owner of Colorado Studios and Mobile TV Group), the reformed AXS launched in July 2012 owned by HDNet, Cuban, Philip Garvin, Ryan Seacrest, the Anschutz Entertainment Group and Creative Artists Agency. It is an entertainment channel devoted mostly to concerts and red carpet events.

Among the 2013 headliners: Maroon 5, Dave Matthews Band, Billy Joel, Frank Ocean, Willie Nelson, Jimmy Cliff, Gypsy Kings and Ben Harper.
