WATKINS, Colo.—The air traffic control tower at Front Range Airport outside Denver has been spared.
The Federal Aviation Administration released a final list Friday of 149 air traffic control towers that it will close at small airports around the country starting next month, but it says the tower at Front Range Airport in Watkins will stay open.
About a month ago, a preliminary list of towers being considered for closures was released. After reviewing comments from airport directors, the FAA included the tower at Front Range Airport among the two dozen that it said would remain open.
