The U.S. Senate on Saturday confirmed federal Public Defender Raymond Moore to serve as a judge on the U.S. District Court in Denver.
Moore will replace Chief Judge Wiley Daniel, who became a senior judge on Jan. 1.
Moore was selected by a bipartisan, advisory committee formed by Colorado Democratic Sens Mark Udall and Michael Bennet and nominated by President Barack Obama.
“In addition to his broad legal experience and sharp mind, Ray has a commitment to the rule of law and careful, thoughtful judgment that will serve him well on the bench,” Bennet said in a press release announcing the confirmation. “He will make an outstanding federal judge and will represent our state well.”
