BOULDER, Colo.—A diabetic man accused of drugging a University of Colorado student with his insulin and then sexually assaulting her has been sentenced to 83 years to life in prison.

Thirty-three-year-old Frederick Allen was convicted in January of charges including sexual assault while armed with a deadly weapon.

The Daily Camera reports ( ) that before Allen was sentenced Friday, he asked the judge to allow him to be considered for parole in 26 years. However the judge gave Allen the stiffest sentence allowed, noting Allen had previous felony convictions and that he was on parole when the CU student was assaulted in 2011.
