Foodie, travel guru and journalist  kept the company of some fine rock stars on his (now canceled) TV show “No Reservations,” including the Black Keys and Sleigh Bells.

But Bourdain and frontman Josh Homme really, really like hanging out. Homme appeared on “No Reservations” twice, a Christmas special and  documenting Bourdain’s time in Southern California. So what’s Bourdain to do but of course invite Homme, along with Mark Lanegan, to record the theme song for his new show on CNN, “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.”

Last week, Bourdain posted a Facebook status saying, “Title song/music for … Ի. And it is awesome.” But we had yet to hear the sweet melodies of alternative rock until the episode aired Sunday night. We now know half of the refrain consists of some incredibly repetitive “sha, la la la la la”-ing, but when you only have 30 seconds … you might as well sha la la?

Bourdain had this to say about the new song:

“When you hear the new title music for ‘Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown’ your head will explode, leaving only a smoking stump. When we heard what (Homme and Lanegan) had come up with, there was weeping and jaw-droppage.”

The first episode of ‘Parts Unknown’ follows Bourdain through Myanmar, and CNN kindly put the for your viewing pleasure. If you fast forward to the :50 second mark you can hear the song — fair warning, we take no responsibility for any exploding heads.
