A Denver jury has convicted a second man of sexual assault in a four-year-old case.
Domonique Huntington, 26, faces punishment ranging from probation to an indeterminate-to-life prison term when he is sentenced in June. The jury convicted him on April 10.
A co-defendant, Connie Liphford, 28 was convicted of sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact last year and is now serving a minimum of 10 years and up to an indeterminate-to-life sentence.
The assault occurred in February 2008, when the two men offered a ride to a 26-year-old woman. Instead of taking her home, they drove to an isolated area where they both sexually assaulted her. They later let her out of the car in her neighborhood and she was able to walk home.
The case was unsolved until Denver’s Cold Case Project matched DNA evidence collected at the time of the assault to Huntington and Liphford.
