Denver police shut down the area of East 38th Avenue and Grape Street Wednesday night to investigate a shooting.

A man was shot after 9 p.m., according to John White, Denver police spokesman.

Investigators tracked a suspect to the 3600 block of Hudson Street around 11 p.m., police said.

The victim was in critical condition as of 10 p.m., police said.

It was unclear what led up to the shooting.
