So, yeah.  — arguably one of the biggest bands to ever exist — played a surprise show at the 700-capacity  in Los Angeles. The Stones posted a video on YouTube today showing a long line of fans waiting to get in, followed by a few clips of the band performing.

To put things into persepctive, the Ogden Theatre on east Colfax is twice the size. It’s one of those “I was there” moments for anyone who wasn’t alive to see the quartet in their heyday of the late ’60s and ’70s. Take the 16-year-old girl in the video, for example, who was in line with a ticket. Mick Jagger was 53 when she was born.

This surprise show comes as part of a long string of good luck for LaLa Land. Los Angeles has been the proud receipient of heavy hitters playing extremely intimate shows within the last couple of weeks. The Troubadour (West Hollywood) played host to Rod Stewart and Depeche Mode most recently. Not together, because that would be kind of weird?

The Rolling Stones are ready to kick off their 50th anniversary tour, which hit a snag last week with a possible double-booking at the Staples Center. due a possible NBA playoffs on May 2. , however, we hope to latch on before the end of year.
