DENVER—Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is meeting with Colorado students before helping dedicate a new state courts building in Denver.

Sotomayor is answering questions from eighth-, ninth- and 10th-graders Thursday morning after the chief justice of the Colorado Supreme Court introduced her as a “rock star.”

Henry Burkle, an eighth grader from Colorado Springs, hoped to ask Sotomayor how much technology she uses on an everyday basis.

He said a career in law “would be cool,” but he hopes to work in space technology.

Cacey Vigil, a sophomore at Poudre High School in Fort Collins, said she hopes to ask Sotomayor, “What inspired you to become a Supreme Court justice?”

On Thursday evening, Sotomayor will speak at Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she’s expected to discuss her new memoir.
