This is a tough week for fans. The legendary artists comes to Denver and forces everyone to choose between a one of a kind show and paying rent this month. But don’t worry, there’s plenty more live music to see this week that’s a fraction of the cost. Here are Colorado’s best shows this week, covering hip-hop, psych-rock, indie-rock and more.

4) Fabolous, Pusha-T — Ogden Theatre, Tuesday, $32.50-$40

While can feel like he’s in the business to do nothing more than make generic ghetto rap turned pop hit, he can sometimes surprise you with something meaningful. Usually, Fabolous is able to do this when pared with other artists like Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and The-Dream. But whatap really excited us about with his show at the Ogden Theatre on Tuesday is his tourmate . With an already successful career as half of the hip-hop duo Clipse, Pusha-T is making a solo comeback that has early hints of greatness. Check out his dark chopped up new

3) The Black Angels — Boulder Theater, Friday, $20-$23

have an obsessive love for psychedelic rock’s past. Lovingly, though sometimes with clunky results, the Black Angels imitate psych’s pioneers, even taking its band name from a Velvet Underground song. To keep the tradition of psychedelic rock strong today, and to ensure its place in the future, the Black Angels has even created its own Austin Psych Fest. One has to respect dedication like that to any type of craft and would imagine that when these guys play at the Boulder Theater on Friday they’re representing an entire genre.

2) Prince — Ogden Theatre, Sunday-Monday, $250

Two days, four shows one small venue and an opportunity to see the legendary Prince in an unprecedented intimate setting. The only problem? Itap $250. Yes, this would be our No. 1 best show of the week if it wasn’t for the price, and Colorado seems to feel the same way given ticket sales so far. If you have this kind of money, there is no better way to frivolously spend it than on this concert.

1) Built To Spill — Fox Theatre, Saturday, $18.50-$22

isn’t trying to do much more than make solid, listenable indie-rock. Maybe it has something to do with the band’s humble origins in Twin Falls, Idaho, whose biggest claim to fame is a failed Evel Knievel stunt. Built to Spill’s members are probably just happy to be making music (instead of cheese or sugar) for a living. Frontman Doug Martsch’s musings on life are almost akin to how Neil Young would look at the world, and his voice certainly sounds similar to the folk legend. By keeping things simple, Built to Spill has stuck around for nearly two decades. The band plays at the Fox Theatre in Boulder on Saturday. (Tickets, $18.50-$22, via foxtheatre.com)
