
The woman who blocked police with her car so her boyfriend could escape during a high-speed chase has been sentenced to four years in prison.
Bridgette Sandoval, 28, was sentenced Monday for the incident that happened Jan. 15 along Interstate 70 through Jefferson County, according to a news release from the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.
Authorities were in a high -speed pursuit of a stolen BMW when Sandoval, driving a gray Chevrolet, wedged her car between the BMW and the cruisers. Speeds reached 110 mph.
Sandoval crashed her car at the Denver West exit from I-70, near a private office complex where she attempted to hide from authorities by wearing a pair of coveralls she took from a janitor’s closet, authorities said. She was arrested on-site.
The gray Chevrolet had been stolen in Waco, Texas and Sandoval was driving under revocation during the chase, according to the news release.
Sandoval pleaded guilty on April 22 to aggravated motor vehicle theft and vehicular eluding.
She was sentenced to four years in prison for the motor vehicle theft and three years for eluding, which are to be served concurrently, according to the release.
