Lakewood police have positively identified the body found in Clear Creek County on Friday as that of missing resident David Noren.

Noren, 49, had been reported missing since May 20.

His body was located by a hiker along Fall River Road and identified Monday, said Steve Davis, Lakewood police spokesman.

Police could not comment on the cause of death due to the ongoing investigation, but said it was “clearly” a homicide.

Authorities are seeking an arrest warrant for Ryan Boyd Hicks, 34, who was Noren’s roommate at the time of his disappearance, Davis said.

That warrant will include charges of first-degree murder, felony murder, robbery and criminal possession of a financial credit device, Davis said.

Hicks was previously interviewed by Lakewood detectives about Noren’s disappearance.

Following the interview, Hicks traveled to Arizona where he was arrested and remains in custody on unrelated charges, police said.

It is unclear when Hicks will be returned to Colorado to be advised of the potential charges he may face in Noren’s death, Davis said.

Police ask anyone with information about Hicks that would assist detectives in their investigation, to call the Lakewood police at 303-987-7111.
