COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—An airplane crashed at Meadow Lake Airport east of Colorado Springs while attempting to take off, but no injuries were reported.

A spokesman for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says the plane was about 50 feet in the air when it lost power on Sunday. The plane came down in a field north of the runway and then slid along an embankment on the shoulder of east bound Highway 24.

According to KKTV-TV ( ), the pilot plus one passenger were on board at the time of the crash.
