The Colorado Rockies have recalled infielder Josh Rutledge from Triple-A Colorado Springs and placed Troy Tulowitzki on the 15-day disabled list. Tulowitzki is out with a broken rib on his right side, an injury sustained Thursday.
Rutledge will be available for Friday’s game against Philadelphia.
Rutledge, 24, was a member of the opening day roster. He played 43 games with the Rockies as a second baseman, batting .242, before being demoted.
Rutledge was optioned to Colorado Springs on May 22, and has played 17 games with the Sky Sox, batting .348 (24-for-69) with 9 doubles, 2 home runs, 10 RBI and 13 runs.
