One person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation Thursday night when a fire burned a first-floor unit of a housing complex in Denver.

Fire crews were called to 1835 W. Mosier Place around 8 p.m. and were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to other units, said Mark Watson, Denver Fire Department spokesman.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Watson said.
