A train of tanker cars rammed through the back of a building Tuesday morning in a Denver rail yard.

The mishap unfolded about 7 a.m. near East 44th Avenue and Sherman Street.

Officials told 7News that crews were doing a switching move when four cars derailed.

The cars were on tracks that lead through an opening and into a light-industrial service building. The cars failed to stop and rammed through the back end of the building past the end of the track.

The train ended up pushing a jet blower ahead of it. The jet blower, used to clear snow and ice from railroad switches during the winter, was being stored in the building.

The train went through a parking lot and chain-link fence before coming to rest about 20 feet from a garage in the adjoining neighborhood.

A neighborhood resident told 7News that the train was spilling fuel, but railroad officials say there was only a small oil leak from the jet blower.

The train cars were transporting denatured alcohol, which is designated by a red placard with the number 1987.

Burlington North Santa Fe said no one was injured during the derailment. The railroad is investigating the cause of the crash.
