Comcast Business will announce Thursday that it has upgraded the fiber network at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, boosting bandwidth by 2½ times.

The upgraded network now supports up to 25,000 simultaneous Wi-Fi connections at the stadium, more than 10 times the previous limit. Wi-Fi service is available around the venue, such as the concourse and concession areas. But only Verizon Wireless subscribers currently can access the Wi-Fi network.

The Denver Broncos have also added high-definition scoreboards and more than 1,000 HDTVs throughout the stadium, including in the party suites, club areas and newly renovated concourses.

As part of the Comcast upgrade, the Broncos also bolstered the connection at the team’s Dove Valley headquarters.

“The renovations and improvements our organization have made to the stadium and training facility this offseason ultimately allow us to offer an even more immersive experience for our fans by enabling us to provide better amenities and services across the board,” Russ Trainor, vice president of information technology for the Broncos, said in a statement.
