The deadline to apply for the city of Aurora’s 2013 Citizens’ Planning Academy is Sept. 6. The academy is free and open to all Aurora residents and business owners.
The six-week program provides an in-depth look at city planning, delving into the development application process, planning law, Aurora Water, city finance, transportation and other topics.
The academy will take place on Tuesdays from 5 -6:30 p.m. Sept. 17 to Oct. 22 at the Aurora Municipal Center, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway.
Ninety-four community members have graduated from the six planning academies that have been offered since 2008. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply early as only 20 people will be selected to participate.
