LAFAYETTE, Colo.—A teenager who is charged as an adult after an explosive device was found at Centaurus High School in Lafayette in May has been informed of the charges against him.
The teenager was told Wednesday he is facing charges of first-degree attempted murder, use of explosives, possession of an explosive and felony menacing.
According to KMGH-TV ( ), defense attorneys said the charges are extreme for the situation because no one was harmed. Prosecutors say the teen poses a possible future threat.
A device was found in a paper bag by a teacher. The teacher took it outside and the bomb squad later detonated it.
