GREELEY — Seth Lobato threw for 314 yards and three touchdowns Saturday, leading Northern Colorado to a 31-10 win over Langston in the teams’ season opener.
Dimitri Stimphil was Lobato’s prime target, catching five passes for 219 yards and two long touchdowns.
Langston scored first, on Michael Ryan’s 25-yard field goal. The Lions’ defense played well against UNC’s offense until Lobato engineered a 91-yard drive that ended with an 11-yard touchdown pass to Will Jefferson Jr. That gave the Bears a 10-3 lead at halftime.
Lobato opened the second half with a 60-yard TD strike to Stimphil. He closed the third quarter with an 80-yard TD pass to Stimphil, giving the Bears a 24-3 lead.
Darius Graham rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown for the Bears on 17 carries.
Langston’s Jac’Quon Miles threw for 190 yards. He was intercepted three times.
