FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Authorities say a woman was seriously injured when she fell from a moving Jeep in the northern Colorado town of Wellington.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Joseph Dominic Savell of Wellington was going too fast when he took a left turn at about midnight Thursday, throwing the woman out of the vehicle. He is accused of leaving the scene.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was hospitalized with serious injuries to her head and face.

Savell was contacted later at his home and was arrested on charges of vehicular assault, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence and reckless driving.
