ERIE, Colo.—The Erie Board of Trustees is refusing to turn over some of the emails exchanged with town attorneys to a special prosecutor investigating Mayor Joe Wilson for alleged ethics violations.
The board said Tuesday the documents are protected by attorney-client privilege.
According to the Boulder Daily Camera (), questions arose after Wilson tried to evict a tenant from a home he manages in order to sell it.
The tenant, Karol Hopper, called police on the mayor and he was served with a restraining order.
Wilson has said his dealings with Hopper are a private business matter and have nothing to do with his office.
