CANON CITY, Colo.—Authorities are investigating after an 82-year-old woman was found dead in the burned ruins of her Florence home.
The Canon City Daily Record reports ( ) authorities were called to the house fire just after 11 a.m. Saturday but weren’t able to enter because of thick smoke. Mildred Louise Miley, who lived alone in the home, was found dead in the ruins after firefighters controlled the blaze.
Florence Police Chief Mike DeLaurentis says the fire remains under investigation.
