A Denver man has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of a sawed-off shotgun.

Anthony Russell, 44, was sentenced this week in U.S. District Court, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.

Russell was indicted by a federal grand jury in Denver on April 25, according to a media release. He pleaded guilty on June 26 and was sentenced Monday.

U.S. District Court Judge Philip A. Brimmer also ordered Russell to serve five years of supervised release after the prison term is complete.

On Feb. 4, Denver police executed a search warrant at Russell’s residence and found weapons and drugs, according to court documents.
