A woman who was among 19 people arrested in an April drug bust by Denver’s Metro Gang Task Force pleaded guilty in federal court on Wednesday to distributing cocaine.

Stephanie Kirby, 32, played a small part in the drug ring, which allegedly involved members of the Eight Trey Gangster Crips street gang.

Kirby, whose arrest was the result of an anti-drug effort dubbed “Operation Pig Pen,” pleaded guilty to one count of distribution. A single mother of two who had no prior criminal record, she remains free on $5,000 bond.

“While she was involved in a serious case, she was not involved to the level of others,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Susan Knox told Judge William Martinez.

Kirby’s lawyer, Siddhartha Rathod, said she sold only $200 or so of crack cocaine before leaving the drug trade. “She left on her own before being contacted by police,” Rathod said.
