We worried it would happen: a never-ending election cycle.

After the recall election process was used to oust two Democratic state senators because of their gun control votes,

They already failed once to gather enough signatures to mount a recall election against Sen. Evie Hudak, D-Westminster, but now, after the successful recalls in September, they’re making a new run at her.

Because the prior recalls took the Colorado Senate from a 20-18 Democratic majority to an 18-17 majority, gun rights supporters hope they can flip one more seat — not through regular elections but in a low-turnout contest that won’t use mail ballots.

Even Colorado GOP Chairman Ryan Call

“The job of the Republican Party is to get Republicans elected when there are regular elections,” Call said. “Using recalls to attempt to win majorities is not something that will be led or championed by the party.”

But as , “Once unsheathed, political weapons are rarely put back into storage.”
