The Denver Auditor’s Office released its audit plan for 2014, which will include looks at 21 agencies and programs throughout the city, including such hot buttons as the multimillion-dollar South Terminal Redevelopment Program and medical-marijuana excise and tax collection.
Every year, Dennis Gallagher’s office conducts audits that look for government waste, mismanagement and other problems. This year’s plan will place a “strong emphasis on performance auditing, particularly in the areas of program effectiveness and assessing the economy and efficiency of various city departments and programs,” according to the report.
