When Oakwood Homes follows up with its 170 homebuyers that have bought value-priced luxury homes at Green Valley Ranch in 2013, the number-one factor luring those purchases is the proximity to downtown Denver, particularly with respect to the price. “This is a hot spot,” says Regional Sales Manager Dwayne Montoya. “People really want to be close to downtown, and they can’t find anywhere near the access we have, for floor plans with this kind of luxury and prices.”

When you drive over the Green Valley Ranch to see a choice batch of homes that can deliver right away (one of the only moments this year when Oakwood has had those available) you’ll pass the tracks for RTD Commuter Rail’s East Rail Line taking shape along Peña Boulevard – set to link this area to downtown as well as DIA in 2016. One RTD station will be within a mile of Oakwood’s Park House and Colorado Collection models off Green Valley Ranch Boulevard, across from Denver’s DSST campus.

“It’s the prices that first bring people to see the models, but when they get here and realize it’s 15 minutes from downtown, that’s when they get serious,” adds Allyson Greenberg, sales rep. She and other Oakwood reps will show you six models including the 3-bedroom-plus-loft Yampa with lots of home automation features – and they’ll point you toward the homes that can deliver soon.

That includes an Avon from the Colorado Collection – designs that pack major size and features. It delivers 2,645 square feet for $307,000 – a cost-per-foot of $116 – for four bedrooms plus a bonus room, on an 8,000-square-foot lot near Green Valley Ranch Golf Club. Included are a main-floor study, fireplace, luxurious kitchen with an oversized island, and a large master with a walk-in shower.

If you’re looking for a ranch, Oakwood will also show you the fast-selling Gunnison -with a smart space second level included – over 2,000 square feet and priced from $231,800. “It’s been a great seller,” says Montoya. “People want it who are downsizing, but younger families are buying it, too.” He adds that just like the homes ready right away, it comes with Oakwood’s Energy Star 3.0 package, so reliable that they’ll guarantee your energy bill for your first two years of ownership. If you’re interested in getting a solar energy system included, be sure to ask about a solar-lease program that Oakwood offers with Solar City.

To view models and homes that can deliver soon, take the DIA freeway to E. 48th/Green Valley Ranch Boulevard and head east a half mile to Walden.
