Authorities captured a man who was believed to be armed and dangerous after they say he bonded out of jail, beat his girlfriend and cut off his ankle monitor.

Randy Rodriguez, 41, was apprehended Monday afternoon in Englewood, according to a news release from Lakewood police.

7News he cut off his ankle monitor, which police found in a Dumpster in the area of 2065 S. Osage St.

Officers from the Safe Streets Task Force, fugitive unit and Lakewood police captured Rodriguez after a period of surveillance, according to the release.

Two warrants for Rodriguez’s arrest were issued after he disappeared, police said.
