Clearing House fraud. A man sent $345 in Visa gift cards to someone who called him at his home in the 400 block of South Kalispell Way. The caller told the man that he won second place in the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes, and he needed to send money to process the claim. The man went to police on Oct. 10 after no prize arrived.

Thief targets dog owners. Employees at the PetSmart on 40 S. Abilene St. called police Oct. 9 after two customers’ purses were stolen. The customers were preoccupied with their dogs during a training session when the thefts happened.

Caught on tape. A loss prevention employee at the King Soopers at 4271 S. Buckley Road called police after she saw two women stuffing merchandise into their purses on Oct. 6. The suspects jumped into a gray car and escaped.

Raining glass. A woman reported that someone threw rocks through her bedroom window after she returned to her home in the 18700 block of East Water Drive and saw glass falling from the second-story window on Oct. 6.

Cash unaccounted for. A woman called police to her home in the 14400 block of E. Mississippi Avenue on Oct. 6 and claimed a group of movers stole $2,000 from her mattress. When police arrived, she said the money was actually in a pair of jeans, then changed the location to a baby crib. The movers denied taking the cash.

Disappearing motorcycle. A woman called police to her home in the 3200 block of South Danube St. after her Kawasaki motocross bike was taken from her open garage on Oct. 3. There are no suspects.
