The exhaustive PR machine behind (erm, the Reflektors?) gave it another round Monday night with an appearance on “The Colbert Report.”
The forthcoming release of new album, “Reflektor,” by the Canadian band points to a change in landscape — whether old fans want to acknowledge or not. The surging popularity looks as though an arena tour might be in the works for the “Steely Dan of Canada” as dubbed by witty Stephen Colbert.
Fans were treated to two new tracks off of the new album that truly flex a James Murphy-esque vibe with the slow simmering turned rolling track, “Normal Person.” Despite the morbid song-title, “Afterlife,” represents what Win Butler called a “shake your ass on the dance-floor with a teardrop” kind of song. Well said, Win.
