Shoplifting. On Oct. 27, a Douglas County Sheriff’s deputy responded to King Soopers, 8673 S. Quebec St., where a man returned a dental item for $30 and then was witnessed leaving the store without paying for about $150 worth of merchandise.

Teenage mischief. On Oct. 27, a deputy responded to the 7800 block of Canvasback Circle where a woman’s front yard tree had been toilet-papered. She had previously filed a report about her house being egged.

Mail theft. On Oct. 26, a deputy responded to the intersection of Tanglewood Road and Colorado 86, where the outgoing mail compartment seems to have been forced open. The compartment was empty.

Stealing cigarettes. On Oct. 24, a deputy responded to Walgreens, 9171 S. Broadway, where a man who was pretending to want a prescription filled stole two packs of cigarettes from behind the counter when the clerk was not paying attention. The case was deactivated due to lack of information.

Phone harassment. On Oct. 17, Parker Police responded to King Soopers, 17031 Lincoln Ave., where a man reported another man had been threatening over the phone to beat him up. The officers later met up with the man making the threats and took him into custody.

Grandparent scam. On Oct. 16, Parker Police responded to the 11000 block of Blackthorn Court, where the victim received a call from someone threatening the life of relatives and demanding money. The relatives were fine, it was apparently a “grandparent” scam.
