GREELEY — A 76-year-old Greeley woman was ordered on Monday to serve one year on probation after she was convicted of threatening a neighbor with a pellet gun that resembled a Colt handgun.
In August of 2011, Michael Crawley told police his neighbor, Joyce Bradmon, aimed what he thought was a .45-caliber handgun at him after she yelled at some neighborhood kids for drawing with chalk on a sidewalk.
Bradmon told jurors during her August trial that she was merely holding the gun — which she said she had purchased to shoot snakes — on her lap after cleaning it, and she never threatened anyone.
Weld District Court Judge Todd Taylor ordered Bradmon to serve one year on unsupervised probation, saying that — real gun or not — her actions toward her neighbors were intended to scare them.
