Watch J. Cole on David Letterman, performing “Crooked Smile” with a string quartet

band keeps getting bigger with each late night performance. When he performed his smooth hit , he was backed by a full band and backup singers. Tuesday on , he added a string quartet to his lineup of backing singers, a DJ and band.

Always an impressive live performer, J. Cole continues to get more comfortable with his “Born Sinner” material as his band grows. On Letterman, he had no problem keeping up with the backing group and charming the host himself. J. Cole brought his tour in support of the chart-topping “Born Sinner” to Denver’s 1stBank Center last month. With that North American tour over, Cole takes off for a European tour that begins in Copenhagen on Nov. 10 and ends in Ireland on Dec. 11.
