Some of the nation’s largest trucking companies will be in Denver to pre-hire new Driver Trainees at United States Truck Driving School in Denver, on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This will be one of the largest recruitment events in the Denver area in 2013.
The trucking industry is booming, and drivers today can earn $45,000-$70,000 per year. And unlike many jobs – the trucking industry continues to offer excellent benefit packages, including health, dental, vision, 401K and retirement. Bob Costello, chief economist for the American Trucking Association, said, “this is the perfect storm for the trucking industry. Today, just as freight is picking up, you have many older drivers retiring from the industry. This has created one of the largest demands for professional truck drivers in the last 25 years”. JBS Carriers, Swift Transportation, Werner Enterprises, Schneider National and May Trucking, and others will all be pre-hiring new driver trainees. There’s no prior driving experience needed – and you can be trained and ready to start in as little as three weeks. And many of these trucking companies will help cover your CDL training costs! “Today, we see people of all ages, and occupations entering the trucking industry”, said Frank Trujillo, campus director. “Because of the pay and benefit packages, and the fact that many drivers are home weekends and evenings, we have people leaving their jobs now to become new drivers.
