Getting your player ready...

Interview with Jim Nixon, owner

How did you get involved in this business?

I started in the restaurant business at age 15, working in Denver. It evolved into a love for the restaurant industry. I worked in many aspects, from kitchen to busser to bar to management; from small mom-and-pop places to major corporate-owned restaurants and resorts. I took all the knowledge from everything I learned and opened my own restaurant.

What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?

We are currently the only gourmet quick casual burger restaurant in Evergreen. We serve only all-natural grass-fed beef (never frozen, always fresh), organically grown produce, and our buns are baked fresh. We also use biodegradable paper products. Finally, we provide a clean, comfortable dine-in experience and takeout as well.

What do you like best about your line of work?

I enjoy the interaction with people and the ability to create a product that people truly enjoy.

What is your business’ biggest challenge?

At this point it would be the economy and the uncertain future of it. Also, keeping the most quality product at the most affordable price with such uncertainty.

Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:

When not working many long hours, I spend the rest of the time exercising and spending time with my wife and two children. My family is my complete support system and the exercising is my way of keeping mentally focused.
