More people signed up for insurance on HealthCare.gov on Sunday and Monday than in all of October, according to .
Citing an official familiar with the program, the report said that about 29,000 people selected a health plan on the first two days of December.
By comparison, from Oct. 1 through Nov. 2, according to official figures released in mid-November.
Though still unconfirmed, the numbers seem to indicate that the troubled federal website is working well enough to accommodate an expected crush of interest before the Dec. 23 deadline to sign up for insurance beginning on New Year’s Day.
In a call Tuesday, the Obama administration said that came to HealthCare.gov on Monday.
Another unconfirmed number, on Monday, said that about 100,000 people signed up for insurance in November.
The Obama administration will not release official numbers for enrollments until mid-month and has not given any figures on how the back-end system, which connects customers with insurance companies has worked, leading to some criticism of this week’s leaks.
