Denver’s first lady, , will be among those trying out for a spot on the NBC television show ” ” when the producers conduct an open audition Saturday at the Colorado Convention Center.
Mayor Michael Hancock’s wife, an accomplished vocalist, is scheduled to give her 90-second performance at 10 a.m.
The auditions, open to those who preregister at will run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Those who pass muster will advance to the Season 9 preliminaries, where they will perform for Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel. The overall winner wins $1 million.
Performers of all types are welcome, according to show spokeswoman Tanya Hayre.
