GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.—An official with SG Interests says Glenwood Springs is the logical access route for a two-well exploratory project outside the town.
However, the company is not ruling out an alternate access through a forest if it expands drilling.
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports ( ) possible alternate routes could include a longer a road that would require miles of road construction through a forest to let trucks get to Silt.
The proposed wells are in an area referred to as Thompson Divide, which nearby communities including Glenwood Springs, a citizen coalition and others want to protect from drilling.
