Friday-Dec. 31. The concerts and champagne galas surrounding New Year’s Eve usually lack a vital ingredient: a comedian who has helpfully analyzed the year’s follies and given us a break from having to do it ourselves. Denver’s thriving stand-up scene will see 2013 to the door over the next week with a number of worthy shows, including Dec. 27’s Grawlix showcase at the Bug Theatre ($10, 3654 Navajo St., ) with Rob Gleeson, Christian Duguay, Emily Maya Mills, Dan Soder and a special guest or two. There are also New Year’s Eve-themed runs (both starting Dec. 27) at Comedy Works with Mike Winfield at Larimer Square and Wil Anderson at the Landmark location ($25-$55, ), both of which extend through Dec. 31, as well as Rodney Perry, pictured, at the Denver Improv Dec. 27-Dec. 31 ($30, ).
