PUEBLO, Colo.—The Pueblo County coroner says a mother and her toddler son killed in a Christmas Day house fire died from smoke inhalation.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports ( ) the coroner announced the cause of death Friday for 25-year-old Natasha Fiore and 3-year-old Elijah Pino.

Fiore’s 5-year-old son, Satalo Pino, and her mother, Tamara Espinoza, were injured. Espinoza was released from a hospital Thursday. Satalo was taken to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. His condition wasn’t available.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
