White mentioned in an interview with Rolling Stone last February, that he has 20 to 25 songs already written (for a future album).
“It’s definitely not one sound…. It’s definitely several,” he said of the new material. “Like you heard in ‘Blunderbuss,’ there’s many different styles there. I don’t pick my style and then write a song. I just write whatever comes out of me, and whatever style it is, is what it is.”
“Blunderbuss” was White’s debut solo album in 2012 and was an eclectic unveiling of his potential as a one man band. With his involvement in monumental projects like The Raconteurs and White Stripes, Jack White has the credibility and now the freedom to explode as a solo artist.
