A powerful storm sweeping through North Carolina this weekend destroyed a complex that was under construction in the Brier Creek area of Raleigh.

Record-breaking wind speeds with gusts up to 86 mph battered the region, toppling trees and knocking out power. Local photographer Ed Braz had his camera pointed at a nearby building complex that was largely under construction Saturday when a gust of wind knocked the building down reducing it to a pile of lumber.
