Denver will wave goodbye this weekend to the National Western Stock Show — and will also say farewell to as warm temperatures.
Saturday’s high is expected to surpass 60 degrees, but the National Weather Service predicts 1-3 inches of snow will arrive in Denver just in time for the work week.
“It’s going to be kind of a quick system like we saw earlier this week,” said Kyle Fredin, a meteorologist with the weather service in Boulder. “This one will get the mountains a little bit more though.”
Fredin said Colorado’s high country will receive about the same amount of snow as Denver from late-afternoon on Sunday into Monday.
After the snowfall, temperatures in the metro area may rise to the mid-40s this Wednesday — about 10 degrees cooler than the days following snow last Wednesday night.
“It won’t get quite as warm after this one,” Fredin said.
