When an award show cuts off a collaborative performance from some of music’s most respected artists, you had better believe it won’t go unnoticed — especially if someone as outspoken as is involved.

The man behind Nine Inch Nails had a few choice words for the producers when his high-intensity closing performance with Queens of the Stone Age, Lindsey Buckingham and Dave Grohl was cut off early.

, “Music’s biggest night…to be disrespected. A heartfelt F*** YOU guys,” in response to the network’s questionable decision to make up for the overshot three-and-a-half hour running time.

While the show was filled with surprising events (some good, most bad), Grammy Executive producer Ken Ehrlich responded to Reznor

“I’m sorry he was upset. I was really thrilled that we were finally getting him on the Grammys… I did tell them we’d take it as long as we could. The number was about five or six minutes long, and we got to within a minute twenty of the end. We got as close as we could possibly get.”

While chances are slim that Reznor will make another Grammy appearance, the award show has been good to him in the past. He’s won two awards out of 12 nominations for his work with Nine Inch Nails and his score for “Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.”
