A half century has passed since one of the most influential rock bands to ever exist set foot on the Ed Sullivan stage to serenade American audiences.
On Sunday night, “The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles” paid tribute to the Beatles and the band’s 50th year anniversary on the Ed Sullivan show with an event featuring Pharrell Williams, Dave Grohl, and, of course, the remaining living Beatles.

Dave Grohl “Hey Bulldog”
Ex-Nirvana beat keeper, Dave Grohl, decided to take the less conventional path with his song choice of the evening. “Hey Bulldog” was on the “Yellow Submarine” soundtrack and a lesser known song not on the radar of the casual fan. The track most recently was included on the “Love” compilation in 2006.

Eurythmics, “Fool on the Hill”
In a nice twist for the night, a recently reunited Eurythmics performed “Fool On the Hill.” The great rendition from the pop duo, marks a pretty incredible return.

Katy Perry “Yesterday”
Perry gave an intimate and passionate performance of “Yesterday” accompanied by a an acoustic backing group.
Sir Paul McCartney “Birthday,” “Get Back” & “I Saw Her Standing There”
Sir Paul McCartney might be 71, but he showed that he’s not ready to retire or hang up his guitar. The legendary rocker barreled through a trio of Macca-centric jams that there set the tone for the evening.
Ed Sheeran “In My Life”
Fellow UK countryman, Ed Sheeran, turned in one of the most earnest performances of the evening. The acoustic guitar friendly song was a little on the short end, but a heart wrenching take of “In My Life” nonetheless.
