There was a rare earthquake in South Carolina, felt throughout southeast

A moderate earthquake occured in South Carolina Friday evening, at a 4.4 magnitude, according to USGS.The quake's epicenter was about seven miles from Edgefield, S.C. Earthquakes in the Southeast are felt over a larger swath of land, says USGS.The largest earthquake in the region was a magnitude 5.1 in 1916. This story will be updated.
