has been dishing out teasers in promotion of his upcoming album, “Mastermind,” for some time now. First there was the Jay-Z assisted “The Devil is a Lie,” and now Ross has dropped the video for his freestyle, “Oyster Perpetual.” The track, a throw to an expensive timepiece from the Rolex line, opens up with audio from a 911 call. The call gives chilling detail of the moments after Rick Ross was on the in Miami last April before the smooth beat comes in.

As the title implies, and Ross so astutely asserts, timing is everything. The heavyweight MC talks naturally about the trials and tribulations associated with fame and wealth. Appearances from DJ Khaled, Jay-Z, Fabolous, Swizz Beatz and Diddy give the clip a star-studded element. Ross has this song labeled as a freestyle so don’t expect it to appear on “Mastermind.” It doesn’t contain the fullness of his typical rap swagger but will more than whet listener’s appetite for more.

“Mastermind” is the sixth solo album from Rick Ross set for release on March 4 and features appearances from Kanye West, Jay-Z and more. Stream it
