There was a scary moment in Thursday night’s 86-77 win for UC Santa Barbara over the University of Hawaii.
With six minutes left in the first half, Hawaii coach Gib Arnold was arguing with a referee over an intentional foul call on a Hawaii player, when a male Santa Barbara fan ran on the court, and got into the face of Arnold. The fan was pushed away by Hawaii’s Christian Standhardinger and Garrett Nevels, and faces legal action, according to the Associated Press.
“It was a little crazy to have a fan pushing your players around. I’ve never seen it. You don’t expect it,” Arnold after the game.
The fan’s outburst comes a week after at a New Mexico State-Utah Valley game.
